The Freetown Police Association is dedicated to serving our community, fostering a strong relationship with every citizen of the Town of Freetown and providing the best police services possible. The purpose of the organization shall be to bind the members in closer fraternalism and camaraderie.  To promote, protect and foster development of law enforcement methods and procedures.  To develop, foster and maintain sound and enlightened public relations and with other agencies and organizations having a relationship with law enforcement.


Sgt. Magnett has been a police officer with the Town of Freetown since 1995, holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and is currently a Patrol Sergeant for the department. Sgt. Magnett is a former Collision Analysis and Reconstructionist and currently oversee's the review and approval of all accident reporting for the department.

As the Union President, Sgt. Magnett shall be the chief executive of the organization and shall preside at all meetings of the organization as well as the executive board meeting and perform such other duties as may properly come within his province.


Ptlm. Long joined the Freetown Police Department in 2013, having worked for other law enforcement agencies, as well as an on-call firefighter, since 2011. Ptlm. Long hold a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and is currently assigned as the K-9 Hander with his K-9 partner, Koda, for the department.

As the Union Vice President, he shall officiate for the President in their absence, also serve as the Shop Steward as the spokesperson for the membership for all greivences presented to the Chief of Police and the Board of Selectmen. Additionally, the Vice President shall endeavor to settle all issues in the manor most beneficial to the association membership as a whole.


Ptlm. Pine has been employed with the Freetown Police Department since 2013 and has worked numerous years as a corrections officer prior to that. Ptlm. Pine is dedicated to health and wellness and is currently in the process of establishing a program to ensure officers are maintaining a proper lifestyle for physical and mental health.

As the Union Secretary, he shall keep a record of all business transacted at meetings or the organization as well as the executive board, shall keep in the book provided for the purpose the Bylaws, Charter, and the record of the meetings and a file of all official correspondence of the association. 


Ptlm. Ashley joined the Freetown Police Department as a Communications Dispatcher and 9-1-1 calltaker in 2010, became a full-time police officer in 2012 and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Ptlm. Ashley is currently assigned as a Field Training Officer for the department.

As the Union Treasurer, Ptlm. Ashley shall keep a record of all monetary transactions of the organization, shall be responsible for possession of the ledger, credit card(s), and checkbook(s) on behalf of the organization.
